In his book, published in 2011, David provides a wonderfully researched history of the 19th Battalion which along with the 17th, 18th (comprised of many local Mosman boys) and the 20th formed the 5th Infantry Brigade.
In this talk David will describe the unique history of this unit including stories of some of the characters that joined. Such men as Percy Storkey VC; an Olympic swimming champion; some renowned footballers of the day; an alleged stowaway; six wine-tasters captured by the Germans and the man who would later go on to write “Eternity” around the streets of Sydney.
